Is Jesus really "God".

Ya know, in all my search, I cannot once find where Jesus says that he is actually "GOD". In fact, I see many times where he directs people not to himself, but rather, to the Father. I've been raised (off and on) in the conservative Christian church. I have always come to view Jesus as God since I can remember. Christians say it's a mystery and call it, "Trinity": God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. All being God, but, all being separate at the same time. Mystery, indeed. Here is what I know to be true in my Faith. Believing that Jesus was not "God" does not change much in my belief. It simply means that he is who he says he was. All authority was given to him by God. He is not "a" God. He is the "Son" of God. More on this soon. I will leave you with the debate on John 1:1. "The word was God". Who is this "word"? Well, the bible says the word became flesh. Must be Jesus they're talking about. Why do the Jehovah Witnesses believe so strongly that the manuscripts for this document are flawed? One religion has older manuscripts (that's us). But, the other religion has larger amounts of copies (that's them). Also, why is it that neither the Jews (other than the smaller amount of Messianic Jews), the Muslims or any other faith believe this? We all share the same "Father"-God. The Muslims believe that Jesus was a prophet. Which is funny seeing as Jesus said many things, which contradicts Mohammad's Qur'an. Anyways, I am stumped by this trinity thing. Always was, really. Gotta run.
