...and what work there is to be done.
From an inside press leak this past election in June '09, the GPNS received some bad press. The past executive were reduced to a small handful doing all the work. They didn't get their papers in on time (nor did two of the other major parties) yet, once it got to the hands of the press, you know how they can work against you. Well, there was really no risk of becoming de-registered as a party. Yet the rumors ballooned and the tax-payers wondered what the GPNS was doing all this time.
This party is quite new in this province. Started only since 2006. We've got to show the people of this province that we are going to represent them in the public over these next few years. The last executive were too busy working behind the scenes to "get out there" in the media. Not a smart play, if you ask me. Yet, they were doing the best with what they had been given to them.
I plan to do business. I plan to treat this party like a professional entity as a force to be reckoned with. I maintain the fact that this party would make a FANTASTIC opposition party and Nova Scotian's votes will not be wasted.
Transition period starts this week. I can't wait to dive in. My kids health depends on people like us who fight for policy makers to think about our kid's and our grandkid's future. When our government gather around the table to create policy for our power companies to quit using dirty coal, spreading carcinogenic "bio"-solids over our local produce, and allowing raw sewage to be dumped into our ocean, we will be there.
Thanks for those who have been supporting me through this leadership campaign at home and on facebook! I will be starting up a new facebook page soon and updating you on where to join! Stay tuned!
