Running as First Deputy Leader for Green Party Nova Scotia

It's been a long time coming. I've had a secret fetish for politics since I can remember. In high school I remember solely working on my friend's run for president in the class. Wasn't too difficult I suppose. She did win nonetheless. :)

I recently ran as candidate in the last provincial election for the Green Party. I've been a Green Party voter for years. Now, I just had to actually get "involved".

...and so I did.

Through contacts, website forum mediation, in-person meetings and telephone meetings coming out my WAZOO, I was asked to run for leader. As my actual experience did not lend me the confidence to do so, I declined. At this point in the game, we only had a crazy-person in an unofficial bid for leadership. After others also asking if I would run for leader (at this point I couldn't lose anyways), I decided to meet with those who seemed to be trying to move the party forward. In this meeting we saw a man walk into the room, know exactly what the problems were from the past four years and come up with a 4-year plan to approach this party positively all the way to the next election.

Quite simply... I told him if it meant he would run, I would run with him. I was convinced under his leadership, any and everything I felt I had to offer would be worth the effort.

So, here I am now running as First Deputy Leader for GPNS.

I believe in this party. I believe that the causes of this party have a place in government and at this point in the game, I believe we would make a FANTASTIC opposition party. I am yet under no illusion we will win in the next election. But I am confident that we will be more than just 'noticed'. The NDP were in the same boat we were in not long ago. Now look at them. Majority government in Nova Scotia. We have it in our grasp. It's only a matter of time.

I'm not crazy about politics,

I'm not crazy about politics, because I always feel I can't trust any of those guys... but I would vote for you in a heartbeat. To me, you would be ideal, because yes, you have passion, but you can also see both side of a situation.

Good luck, girl!

Thanks Pascale. It's a dirty

Thanks Pascale. It's a dirty job... but, somebody has to do it. :)
