I am a Green Party Candidate for Cole Harbour

I suppose if anybody knows anything about hockey, my riding might sound familiar to them. Sidney Crosby is from my riding!
Another familiar name from my riding, by those who live here, is Darrell Dexter. Yes, I ran against the NDP leader for all of Nova Scotia. HA!! Well, as a Green Party Candidate, I didn't do too bad!

I think my strength will be in what happens between elections. I really don't have the time to run a full campaign. My heart is for people who are struggling. I am not in the business of making the wealthy, wealthier nor do I care to maintain the wealthy vs. poor dichotomy. I am in the business of helping people be healthy (and in turn less weight on our health-, er, sick-care system).

Enough politics. I am still on a fast from my blog. Update on my family:

B is now involved more in music. Creativity is in his soul. Now he gets to be creativite in both the architecture of designing better interior of homes and in writing music for a new cd he will be recording this summer.

Kids are a joy to be around as usual. I often mention how much fun I have with my kids. I am extroverted after all. I think that must be why I am not so overwhelmed as I hear others complain of. I need to be more sympathetic to those who are introverted and not only do not receive any adult conversation, but, they are around human beings all. day. long! For myself as an extrovert, I'm okay with that. ;)

We just finished our 27-hour teaching on PRIDE. It is the pre-service training before you adopt or foster. B and I are on an unbelievable journey. We truly want to live out true "religion". True religion is not going to church and acting any one certain way. It is taking care of the widow and orphan and we just have way too many of those in our community to not dive in for at least one.

We are renovating, building, and immensely enjoying our home. I don't remember ever feeling like I am living in a "home". I've moved so many times I have gypsy written on the door of the house before I even walk in the entry way. It is starting to feel like 'ours' for the very first time. :)

Well, summer is upon us and oh how sweet it is. Over and out... for who knows how long again.
