SOY - Why It's Bad For You

I just recently came across a short video on why Soy is bad for you. Luckily, the "Soy Debate" is no longer a debate. It is very well known that soy should be minimized, if not avoided in young children. I won't get into all the details. If you are a vegan or vegetarian, you might want to consider what this video talks about.

I believe in moderation, our bodies are able to handle the toxicities we fill it with. Saying that, however, the carcinogens and fertility impairment, which our government continues to allow in our shampoos (BABY shampoos at that), as well as in countless amounts of other beauty products and of course, the rest of our food, for the sake of financial profit may have already contributed to the harm in ourselves and in our children's children.

Please don't feel I am an alarmist. This simply is not true. The government knows MUCH sooner about the harmful effects on our bodies before they decide to pull products from the shelves. YEARS before the BPA in our baby's plastic bottles were found to contribute to fertility issues in our baby's future ability to have children of their own, the government did not think that the negative financial effects on the corporations responsible were worth the long-term health of our children. Finally, after years of having to fund even more and more of the same studies, the government could ignore it no longer.

Oh, I could go on and on.

I'll try to stay on topic so as not to overwhelm you. It's easy to ignore these facts though, isn't it. Ignorance is bliss, after all. Well, I don't know about you, but I've got another 40-50 years ahead of me. That's enough for me to want to take care of this body so that when I AM 70 or 80 years of age, I can still walk around without the much pain and torture I see so many already in due to effects of poor health. It's simply not just aging that makes some of the elderly so sick. Is it not obvious to anyone else that what we put into our body has an effect on us?

Okay, back to the topic at hand.

Soy is the #1 genetically modified bean in all of North America. This alone should alarm some of you. If it doesn't, the natural inhibitors and hormone inducing soy bean should. Just give this video a listen. http://www.mercola.com/article/soy/index.htm

In the end, I think he points to his own products for you to buy. I hate that. It really doesn't help their cause when they try to teach people about making healthy choices, followed by, "now 'I' have a product you could buy, blah, blah, blah". Whatever the case, whatever the reasons behind what this video is teaching what it is, it's still worth looking into for you and your family.

Again, it's not that you should avoid soy altogether. It, as well as all food we put into our fragile bodies, needs to be bought intelligently and in moderation. We need to at least "try" to educate ourselves in order to attempt to make educated decisions in our day to day lives.
