Not for the eyes of men, I have to tell you. This is all about the beautiful cycle of a woman and guys just don't want to hear about it... at least that's what I've heard. ;)
I first heard of Menstrual Cups about 4 or 5 years ago. A friend, who always had problems with heavy periods (super tampons AND pads on top of that) raved about these. I was intrigued. However, not comfortable enough with anything uncommon with the forbidden area until, of course, I had three children. Nothing's sacred after that!
So, after a friend offered them wholesale, I decided this might be the time to try it. Well, I am THRILLED to report that I LOVE IT!! I will never return! Now, this is not to say that it hasn't taken time to figure it out... but, it's simply an amazing invention.
The reason I'm writing is because apparently, not too many people know about it. In my arrogance, I told my SIL that I thought everyone knew about them! Well, after thinking more about it, I haven't really talked withthat many people about it. Anyways, she mentioned she would chat about it on her blog and I waited as long as I could before bursting at the seams! I HAVE TO TELL THE WORLD!!! Besides, she has different readers and the more people who hear about this, the more people will find the freedom in this crazy cycle we woman are blessed/cursed with!
For those interested in more details, here it is. Once you buy it and you have more questions, this is a great blog to find out some answers to your many questions for newbies like me. :)
Trust me. Don't be turned off by the foreignness like I was, with many regrets. Go ahead and give it a try!
I guess I was hasty (apologies to the Ents) when I reported that all my technical problems were fixed. They're partially fixed. It's a long story about monitor calibration, ICC color profiles and other terms I very vaguely understand.

Nah, you mentioned it. That's
Nah, you mentioned it. That's why I brought up that both of us should write to our own readers to get that message out. You brought to my attention that not everyone might know about it and so I should let my readers in on the "secret" in case they hadn't heard. :)
I am a Jesus believing, spouse of a partner who brings peace to my chaos, parent of three crazy kids and, house vegan of 5!
So glad to hear you are going
So glad to hear you are going to use one. I can't believe we never talked about them. They are great for the environment aren't they?! I think they are awesome although take some getting used to. I used the keeper for the last 10 years. Where can you get them wholesale? I need to buy a new one now that my friend Flow has returned. I was just thinking about it and then I stumbled across your message.
yay I am so glad it is
yay I am so glad it is working for you. I now have something to look forward to in oh about 2 years!
I've been using a Diva Cup
I've been using a Diva Cup for a little over two years now, and honestly, my only regret is that I didn't try it sooner. Not only do I never create any garbage any more, I haven't spend a dime on menstrual products in over two years.
When I ran the marathon almost two years ago, I was having my period and used the Diva Cup. It was amazing...because my period was the absolute last thing on my mind...as it should be! I didn't give it a second thought the entire day.... :)
I have been considering it
I have been considering it for a while, but never tried. I am too chicken, I guess. Plus it seems I have always been pregnant or breastfeeding in the past 5 years, so I never really thought of making that kind of investment! lol Thanks for mentioning it!

Along this thought: someone
Along this thought: someone posted a comment with a GoGirl web link. Not familiar with them but (deep breath here)- after last summer's tenting in the rain ('half a mile' walk to the out house) I have purchased a whiz freedom "for when nature calls". www.whizfreedom.com Honestly? I haven't used it yet - but I have had it with me traveling (just in case) and it will definitely be in this summer's camping gear.
