Today we are buried in snow. Approximately 30 cm of snow fell overnight last night. It's fun. It's still the beginning of the season so I really do enjoy these first snowfalls. All toasty warm in the "luxuries" of my oil-driven warmth (oh, how I would love a woodstove), the esthetically pleasing fireplace keeps us well within our fondest memories of melodies with chestnuts roasting. Nonvegan eggnog and nonvegan Bailey's were on the menu for me last night. :) This is the time of year where this House Vegan allows for certain memorabilia to intoxicate her system. None for the kids though. Their bodies are much smaller than mine and much more of what goes into their bodies are used to create and restore the creation of what is to come. Not to say they NEVER go outside of this extreme. It's just quite rare and it's what allows for these "outside toxins" to be cleaned out by our system so much better than if we were to partake of dairy, meat, preservatives, sucralose, etc, etc, etc, on a regular basis! How could our bodies possibly keep up? But, I digress... as usual. Today, the kids are outside shoveling/playing in the snow, which goes well above their waist in the snow drifts. J already got stuck and I had to go out to lift him out of the banks. I hate the cold, personally. I don't mind shoveling though. Yet, with the way my body is using me as an awful pain experiment, I ain't goin' out there to shovel if you paid me! B is leaving for the weekend on a mini tour before the longer tour he will be on for two weeks, starting next weekend. He should have been gone by now had the highway not been closed today. We are waiting for the highway reports to let us know. In the meantime, Christmas decorating is on my mind. I might take them out today, listen to Christmas music and drink more toxic eggnog. My tummy didn't feel too good after last night's "pleasure". I'm going to be making some vegan eggnog next week. Something I've slacked off doing and now my body is suffering for it. It's amazing what our body would tell us if we just stopped filling it with masking agents. If you have ever done a fast or have become vegetarian or vegan, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. Okay, enough chitter chatting. I'm off to bring out some decorations. We are minimalists when it comes to decorating. A few fake poinsettas here and some colorful touches there. The older the kids get though, the more "stuff" I want to "do" for them. I love how excited they get when we discuss Christmas crafts. This year, our home might look a lot more "decorated" than usual. ;)
