My FOUR year old can read!!

You know, it just goes to prove that you don't need to do much for your child to learn to read early. My son is reading 4 letter words from a book and reading some sentences together. He is not reading fluently. Just enough that he would be considered a "reader". I have let my kids watch and play on Starfall since S was a baby. To this day, this is my favorite internet site for kids. They have learned anything from the days of the week to the sounds of letters to putting a snowman together. Now they all maneuver the mouse on their own without my help. A relief from having to do it with them. A mom can get quite tired of sitting there with the constant sound of hearing "B, (buh) BALL" over and over again! This is one of the most exciting "academic" milestones for me. This same site has also helped S print his name very well! I can't really say how, exactly. Perhaps because he knows exactly how it should look and has practiced on his own until it looks just right. I just can't say enough about Starfall! I'm sure there were more variables, which led to him in this stage. I just can't put my finger on anything I may have done except making learning fun. Which, in itself is the most valuable "schooling" to me. :)
