Well, today has not been a good day. My camera broke. It's horrible. The worst part about it, is this is the third camera in less than four years!! Cameras are not cheap! Both times, before this particular morning, were my fault. Sand, as one incident and a spilled sippy cup in my stroller, the other. I suppose I'll take the blame for this one as well. I had the camera on a shelf. Usually I put it away in a cupboard. The kids love playing with the camera and it wouldn't be rare to let them play with it, under our supervision of course. So, they see a camera, they want it, they go for it... and you know the rest of the story. We'll be looking into utilizing our warranty for it, as I don't think it was that long ago we bought it. So, then, as my previously-blogged-confession would have it, I decided to take my frustrations out on my bathroom. We just moved into this home and I'm pretty darned sure the toilet is original. Ugh. It's not pretty. It's yellow, first of all. Along with the rest of the bathroom. It has small little yellow off-set tile on the floor. Guess what goes on the yellow tile and into the grout... yellow pee! Yup, all my kids seem to miss almost every time. I've tried teaching them how to accomplish this goal many times. It sometimes works, but, more often than not, it just runs down the side of the toilet and onto the floor. Now, my daughter has learned to pee in the potty. Excitedly, she also wants to immediately dump the potty into the toilet. Yup, you guessed it... she misses. Trying to stay on top of things around here can get a little crazy. So sometimes I can't be right there to notice all these mishaps. When I had one child, not a dribble would be on my floor without my cleaning it. After three, you become a little like the Europeans. They wear shoes in their homes and could care less what their floors looked like. Not that I've been there. That's only from what I've been told and what I've witnessed in their home. Who knows. Maybe they were lying and it just justified their own craziness with their own kids. I'd like to think it's true and I'm just being foreign. Well, all that to say that today I used bleach. Ugh. DOUBLE UGH! I can still smell it on my hands as I'm typing. Nope, I didn't use gloves. Triple UGH!! I don't know what I was thinking. I'm surprised the chemicals haven't burned my skin yet. Luckily, we have a second bathroom and so we've all been using that while the window is giving our main floor bathroom a huge waft of ventilation. But, it doesn't stop here. I also decided I would wash our shower curtain. I've washed all of my curtains in the washing machine! Why should this time by any different? Well, here's why. I forgot to put it on "gentle". Grrr.. so much for that shredded mess. So, with bleach-scented hands, no shower curtain for my liner NOR the pictures to show it to you, I hope the rest of my day goes better. It's a beautiful sunny day! You would think this would make things a bit better. Today, however, unlike the past three days of very hard efforts, all of my kids decide that THIS would be the day of the week they ALL decide to have a nap. I suppose I should be joining them. Maybe I will.
