I just cannot tell you how crazy this is!! I've had sore wrists ever since I got pregnant and who knows whether it was nursing or WHAT!??! BUT, I've seemed to have been depleted of some strength. Well, other than the pre- and post- natal yoga I've been doing since having S, I haven't done any power yoga. Then, a friend invited me to a group yoga for people in their community and let me tell you, power yoga is different... and it's great! The very first time I attended the class, I thought I might never be able to stick with it. My wrists hurt so much, I couldn't do some of the poses. I thought, "maybe my wrists are too weak" or "maybe the poses this instructor is using is not for me and I have to find a more suitable yoga instructor" or "maybe I can't do yoga... EVER!?" Well, I'm so excited that my wrists are not only better, but, I can do almost all the poses with more strength than ever before!! AND I'VE ONLY BEEN DOING IT FOR LESS THAN 2 MONTHS!!! I'm so impressed!! You would be too. I'm pretty convinced that although it hurts to use any sore joints you may have, it's better for your body to work keep working them. I think you should try it!! Oh, and for those of you who think yoga is hokey and there's no room for it in your spirituality, it's actually hard to find a yoga instructor who is truly into all that moon and stars bit. Also, just because you think there's a root in it that's evil, doesn't make it so. Would you go around your house and investigate who made it, who shipped it, who sold it, and who spoke some crazy-voodoo-witchcraft over it before you hung it on your wall, installed it in your kitchen, or sat on it in your living room? No? Then don't be the judge and jury of practices you have no idea about. Yoga is great for the body. End of story. :)
