Because a lot of us are dealing with fruit flies the past couple of months and beyond, I would like to share an AMAZING way to get rid of those little (in our case, HUGE) suckers.
I used to use the cone-and-fruit-in-a-cup method. I would place a piece of fruit in a cup, place a cone securely on top and voila!... Fruit flies! They knew how to fly in by following the scent, but, they had no clue how to get out!
Then, while Grandma Toews came to town, I discovered her even better, more amazing way to get rid of 'em! I even did a little experiment and placed each methods side by side. Guess whose method worked at LEAST ten times better and whose method I'm choosing to write about here:
Ready?! Here it is!
Fruit Fly Exterminator
3 Tbsp of Apple Cider Vinegar
3 drops of Dish Soap
Yup! That's it!!
I've tried it without dish soap and it didn't attract ONE in a matter of 9 hours! I tried immediately after and I had already attracted a multitude after 5 minutes! Go ahead! Try it!!

You catch more flies with agave nectar
I use this method too, but I learned that using fruit juice or sugar worked even better for me than the vinegar. I also did a side by side comparrison LOL
My Grandma's solution to everything was vinegar. She thought it was a great mosquito repellent and I would spend the summer stinking of vinegar.
I'll have to try it!
I have some agave nectar. I'll have to try the side-by-side experiment too. LOL
fruit flies
cool, I'll try this. Although I think that our house is cooler (cold) again with fall we won't have them bothering us much anymore.
I have tried this and it is
I have tried this and it is attracting TONS of fruit flies, except that's all it's doing! They aren't dying, it's like I'm just giving them a fun place to hang out.
Hmm... Can I ask what type of
Hmm... Can I ask what type of dish soap you are using?
